Your Name is Power – Rend Collective
My favourite song at the moment is Your Name Is Power by Rend Collective. It’s such a positive song – particularly with everything that is going on in the world. It seems like the world is in chaos, and to be honest it is. Still, in the midst of it all we can soak in His word, His truth and we get to get up close and very personal with the creator of the universe. We get to lose ourselves in worship. Your Name is Power is such a powerful song, I love it.

“When we started writing this song we were asking a lot of questions. ‘Is there any hope among the darkness? Is there any right among the wrong?’ We were coming from that place looking around the world and looking at our own situations, asking those questions. And then we realized that in times of uncertainty, yes there are questions but what we need to do as the church and as individuals is to proclaim truth. And so we actually changed things in the first verse to say ‘You’re the answer in the darkness. You’re the right among the wrong.’ And that for us gave us so much more purpose and strength because as congregations we need to stand up, be bold, proclaim and declare the truth in the darkness rather than retreating and getting lost within our thoughts and questions. This whole song is about God’s name. What He does. What He says. Your Name Is Power.”
Philippians 2
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
